Alloy Wheel Refurbishment
We all do it from time to time; a minor lapse in concentration followed by that sickening “crunch”.
Curbed wheels might be scruffy to look at, they may even reduce the value of your car, but they are often still completely repairable after the initial knock. Leaving surfaces damaged can lead to further corrosion, which may well reduce the lifespan of your wheels and force you to buy new ones much sooner than you otherwise would.
Alloy wheel repair is the cost effective way to ensure your car keeps looking the way you want it to. With our top quality guarantee, you can be sure that the job will be completed to the highest possible standard. Using a combination of techniques, tailored to suit both the type of wheel and level of damage, we will do whatever it takes to restore your wheels to their best possible condition.
Whatever it takes:
Chemical Stripping and Shot Blasting
First the tyres are taken off, then the old paintwork and lacquer is removed using a combination of chemical stripping and shot blasting. Stripping and blasting also removes surface corrosion and pitting. Chemical stripping and shot blasting is usually only necessary if the wheel is in a particularly poor condition.
Surface Damage Repair
With the wheel completely clean, any further surface damage will be revealed and the repair process can be undertaken. Small dents, deep scuffs and kerb damage are removed or repaired using a number of different techniques.
Primer and Paint Application
Etch primer is applied to the entire alloy surface followed by high-build primer if necessary, creating an ultra-robust and perfectly smooth coat. After the primer is cured, three coats of water based colour will be applied followed by two coats of 2-Pack lacquer to ensure the perfect finish.
